Aella navigates the surreal, visceral intimacy of the ICU-the overwhelming physicality of love, and the devout love of a mother. She also accurately captures that weird thing time does during the death of a loved one. It just hangs in the air locking you from moving forward or going back. Only after burying them does the weight lift and time finally flows freely again. Anyways, the writing itself is extraordinary, and reading it really inspired me to think differently about my time with my own mother.

Grady Booch, co-creator of UML, contextualizes AI's impact by arguing we're in the third golden age of software engineering marked by rising abstraction levels. While AI accelerates coding, it doesn't replace human judgment and systems thinking required for secure, scalable systems. AI is an opportunity to focus on significant creative and architectural challenges. Really interesting conversation on not only the future of software engineering but also a deep look at it's past.
